In Hong Kong there are more than 452 species of birds have been recorded. Remarkably, this is about 0ne-third of all the birds species recorded for China and about one-twentieth of the total of birds species in the world.

Hong Kong has mixed subtropical- temperature climate, and its geological location makes it a "stopover site" for many species of resident, migrant and visitor birds.
